Arena Lighting – The Here and Now!

The summer 2016 issue of Facility Forum featured an in-depth arena lighting article penned by our in-house lighting expert Christie Martin.

Christie Martin, Lighting Specialist, LEED AP BD+C

Christie’s work performing lighting audits and completing lighting retrofit projects is diverse in nature including multi-residential, government/municipal, educational, recreational facilities and fire stations. She has performed lighting audits on over 15M square feet, recommending energy savings and earning thousands of dollars in incentives. Christie is a member of the Canadian Green Building Council and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. As a LEED AP facilitator, she has assisted building owners in pursuing LEED accreditation including Cara Operations Ltd. head office which received LEED GOLD in 2013.
Recent work in arena lighting retrofits include Galt Gardens in Cambridge Ontario, Jordan Arena in the Town of Lincoln, Ontario and Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ontario. The remainder of the City of Guelph arenas are set to retrofit their ice pads in 2016 under the design and project management of Efficiency Engineering.
