by / Thursday, 08 June 2017 / Published in Sustainability

ASHRAE President Tim Wentz reaffirms ASHRAE’s commitment to “serve humanity and create a more sustainable world” in response to the US government’s decision to back out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

In response to the US government’s decision to back out of the Paris Climate Agreement, 211 mayors representing 54 million Americans indicated that they will adopt and honour the commitments to the Agreement.

In response to the US government’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, California, New York State and Washington State announced they would form the United States Climate Alliance.  Since then, 6 more states have signed on and another 9 states, 1 territory (Puerto Rico) and 1 district (Washington DC) have expressed interest.  These members and potential members represent 23% of the US emissions.
