Begin your journey to Net Zero Emissions with a trusted advisor that will help you build your roadmap from wherever you are on your sustainability journey. We will deliver optimized building performance, energy savings and a corresponding reduction in GHG emissions.

Our roadmap will define exactly what steps are required, and when those steps need to be made to achieve your targets and timelines. In this way, we can successfully navigate a balance between cost savings and investment to achieve your sustainability goals.

5-STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL NET ZERO EMISSIONS STRATEGY

1. REVIEW
To plan your path forward, it’s important to understand how your building currently performs. This will require a review of your energy and water utilities, an assessment of your existing energy-consuming equipment, and an evaluation of your options available to you moving forward.

2. REDUCE
Once you’ve reviewed your options and have decided how to move forward, it’s time to act. Before you even consider a significant capital expenditure it is important that you reduce the energy consumption of your building as much as possible and to make the most out of the energy that your building uses. This can be accomplished through a variety of efficiency measures across your buildings.

3. PRODUCE
No matter how much you optimize your energy use and conservation, some amount of low emission energy production is required. To reach net-zero, your building must produce energy on-site by installing some form of renewable energy generation. This is typically done in the form of harnessing renewable energy such as geo-thermal, solar, wind and fuel switching. Using these renewable sources to produce energy can help offset the total amount of energy supplied by other, high-emission sources of energy.

4. PROCURE
Offsetting the entire energy consumption of an existing building using on-site renewable energy sources can be a significant challenge and is often not feasible or possible. When energy reduction measures and the on-site renewable energy production isn’t quite enough to bring your building to net-zero, then it may be necessary to procure the remaining energy from green energy retailer, or through the purchasing of clean energy credits (RECs) and carbon credits.

5. VERIFY
Monitoring and verifying emission reductions is an ongoing and important step to maintaining your plan and delivering excellence across your initiatives. Our monitoring support can ensure the success of your investments over the long term.

A ROADMAP FOR A SUCCESSFUL NET ZERO OUTCOME

Net Zero Emissions buildings are those which offset as much greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on-site, through energy efficiency and renewable resources, as they consume. Retrofitting an existing building to meet this standard can be a significant challenge and will require detailed planning. The journey can seem overwhelming and complex with fast moving changes in regulation, incentives, and technology.

Our Net Zero Emission Roadmap is your proven path to acheiving your decarbonization goals while optimizing building performance. With more than 30 years of experience in energy savings and GHG reductions, we are your ideal partner to create and execute on a Road Map to take you to your desired destination and results.
