Nathan Phillips Square Arena and Reflecting Pool Revitalization
Our work was completed in two phases for the City due to budgetary reasons. The first phase was a renovation to the reflecting fountain, ice rink and repairs to the iconic arches. The second phase of the renovation was the refrigeration replacement. Efficiency Engineering was proud to help revitalize such an iconic landmark for the City. Our work included providing the Design and Project Management Services.
Milton Sports Complex
The design of CHP units provides continuous power, heating and cooling to the facility which is used as a Public Emergency Response Centre. We are proud to have received the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (Hamilton/Halton) 2019 Award for Engineering Project of the Year – Sustainability Engineering Category for our work on this project.
Toronto South Detention Centre
Design of ground source heating and cooling system. Annual GHG reduction of 502 tonnes of eCO2 over base design from this project. Our option of a 210 ton ground source heating and cooling system was critical in ITS being awarded the project. The detailed design included further analysis, sizing, equipment selection, detailed design and construction management of the installation of a ground source heating and cooling system.
177 Church St., Bradford
Deep Energy Retrofit study at an unused elementary school being converted to a Community Centre. We continued to support this project after the initial study by providing detailed mechanical and electrical design in addition to construction administration duties.
Villa Marie
Efficiency Engineering was hired to develop the detailed design to combine four separate boiler plants into a single plant. The boiler plants were in 4 separate buildings all located on the same city block. Our innovative solution saved an estimated $200K in project costs over building a new mechanical room.
Mississauga Net Zero Studies
Creation of four decarbonization pathways for 59 buildings within the City's portfolio. Calculation of utility costs/savings and GHG reductions for each measure within each pathway.
